Sera Baktopur is effective against bacterial infections of freshwater and marine fish, even in advanced stages. These may include Columnaris disease, fin rot, gill rot, Aeromonas or Pseudomonas bacteria, inflammations and open ulcers as well as dropsy.

Usage Guidelines:
Internal bacterial diseases in ornamental fish can be recognized by bloated bellies with protruding scales and bulging eyes. Other indications are swinging swimming movements, dark coloration, lack of appetite and finally complete apathy.
Directions for use:
Add 1 tablet for every 50 l (13 US gal.) of aquarium water. Aerate the aquarium well during treatment. Switch off CO2 fertilization and UV lamps, do not filter through active carbon. Carry out a partial water change at least every other day, then re-dose sera baktopur direct according to the changed water volume. The treatment should be carried out without interruption for seven days or longer if required. The water must be conditioned with sera water conditioners (e.g. sera aquatan, sera bio nitrivec) after a partial water change when the fish are healthy again. Additionally, we recommend filtering through sera super carbon for 24 hours after the treatment as to remove the medicine remainders completely
We recommend using sera baktopur direct as an intense short bath in case of advanced disease stages. Dissolve 1 tablet of sera baktopur direct in a 2 liter (0.5 US gal.) container (e.g. a small plastic tank) that has been filled with aquarium water in advance to do so. Keep the sick fish in this container for 30 minutes, then return them to the aquarium. Continue the treatment in the aquarium using normal dosage. Remove remainders of the active agent from the intense bath solution by filtering through sera super carbon and pour the solution away afterwards. sera baktopur direct is not tolerated by invertebrates in marine aquariums. Therefore, treat sick fish in a separate container only.
