When choosing the perfect rabbit litter box for your pet, the main factors to consider are the size of your rabbit, where you will be placing the tray and lastly, the depth of the tray. It is essential to note that rabbits like to eat while they relieve themselves; therefore, the litter box you purchase should have sufficient space to allow your pet to sit at one end to relieve himself while having a pile of hay at the other end. A helpful guideline would be to have at least a space of 40cm x 25cm around your rabbit.
The next thing to take into account is the height of the litter box. Rabbits often go to a corner to relieve themselves, so the tray should be high enough in order to prevent any urine from going over the edge. However, if your pet is old and/or has mobility issues, it is better to opt for a triangle toilet tray or a potting tray.
